Works great - doesn't align with the magnet on the iPad Pro, used when bought new

I love the orange/gold look of this stylus. It's very, very easy! Charges via USB-C and comes with extra pencils in the box. At the same time I bought a new one, but received a used one, the box was opened, the round protective tape was torn off. Didn't really mind, but then when I put it on my iPad Pro it didn't stick. I moved it and it was tucked in too high to cover the volume down button. When I tried to realign it, it closed too low and the tip was half an inch from the corner of the iPad Pro. I'm sending it back and trying another one.
