I have a 15 inch Lenovo T590 that was throttling due to overheating and crashing when the system was under load. Desperate for stability, I put this cooling pad underneath and it made a huge difference. In front of the cooling pad, a video conference with more than 10 people (cameras on) will cause an ambient temperature of around 26 degrees Celsius for the processors around over 90 degrees Celsius going up with spikes in the high 90's, the machine usually stalls in the high 90's. This particular machine draws air in from the bottom and blows it out from the side, making this type of cooling pad ideal (not all laptops do this, be sure to check yours). Air vents, fan orientation, and the touch test of this laptop. The back gets warmer than the front. Considering the row of 3 fans, it looks like they work better in the back than in the front. I rotated the cooling pad so 3 fans exit the back of the laptop (and lay the legs flat), now the same CPU video calls are in the high 60s/low 70s, even better progress! I like this pad because it fits the laptop snugly without protruding on the sides. I can also have the fans lined up directly with the vents. Twisting back works, but the USB power cord sticks out the front, which is a bit ugly, I might try to buy an L-head USB cord. to better hide the cable. Also, I can't increase the angle while facing backwards, but I was looking for something flatter anyway, so it doesn't matter. I'd like to turn off the LEDs, but they don't bother me too much.
