Chaps are NOT what is pictured. And it's not just about "cosmetics". The crotch is done differently so they don't cover the inner/top of the thigh like I think they should. The inner thigh/thigh is where most of the large blood vessels are located, which, when severed, will bleed out in seconds or minutes. The design of the chaps I received leaves this area open as the chaps sit on the outside of the leg due to the way the crotch is designed. They offer excellent protection if your chainsaw jumps out of your hands, runs away from you, turns and bites you on the outside of your leg from behind. So to protect yourself while wearing them while working with the saw, place your feet close together as if you need to urinate and lean forward to avoid cutting above knee height and you will be sure. Or is it better to just stand in it and watch other people edit? If you plan to stand with your legs apart (even LESS than in the picture!) and cut with a saw at the hips, waist or higher you will be exposed. They just don't fit at all as shown in the picture, they sit on their feet; the picture seems to me to be sufficient / good protection. it doesn't offer it. The picture is quite obviously a different item as the cut and crotch construction are very different and my pair has a black finish which is different from the picture. That's not fair. For this reason I will no longer deal with this seller. If it was almost the same or different in style but worked the same (i.e. sat on my feet like in the picture) I'd be fine. But the pads I received offer significantly less protection for the critical area than those shown in the photo, in my estimation. While the construction looks okay and the materials appear solid, the materials may be class-leading, so they're certified, but that's like saying "The concrete was good!" but placed in improperly designed and reinforced molds turned out that the footers were all messed up! The waist buckle slips so they slip on my 34" waist - have to keep lifting and tightening them. OR! I've found that if I leave my phone on my belt and the belt loop over it, they don't fall off completely, although they do slip out a larger size. To be honest for the price I could go with a slide buckle. In addition, the buckles that hold the cups around the legs are worn backwards. So you have to twist them to close them - doesn't make much of a difference functionally, but is just another thing that doesn't quite work for them. But then again, I could work with it for a good price. Since they don't protect as pictured, 0 stars for Bait and Change Guys. I don't recommend them, not at all. The helmet was a surprise. I thought the guys were ok, the helmet was junk. I like the helmet very much. It's more durable than I thought and fairly comfortable for a hard hat. y allow you to hear directions or converse with others. The mask feels solid and folds well - and stays in place, which is a big deal for me compared to other masks I've used. The seal is a little wobbly but works. The helmet would have gotten 4 stars from me. Forester's helmet. The caps have no manufacturer. There were clear goggles. they are still in the box in the garage as i wear tinted ones on the outside. I love the helmet and figured if the seller was quick to pull it out and go so deep as to trade it for such a poorly designed product I wouldn't have much luck. with their exchange. I think I can pin the chaps, maybe sew them on so they don't twist around the legs as much and close properly, probably with less effort and time than with a salesman doing that sort of thing. Revain would probably refund my money, but then again I loved the helmet and needed the guys for a planned clean-up project involving sawing off fallen trees in a thicket in a creek (not the usual "controlled" pruning of upright trees). then with more room to cut things like on my plot). I figured some protection was better than none, so I kept picking them up, rotating them around me and getting through the project.
