Review on OPACK Convertible Compartment Anti Theft Multi Functional by Roxanne Medina

Versatile but not suitable for air travel

This bag is very versatile: I wanted a travel backpack that would convert into a briefcase and have a shoulder strap to carry it messenger style. This bag does those things. The quality seems to be good. Pleased to have a trolley strap on top of the trolley and being able to hide the backpack straps was a must for me to maintain a professional look when needed. However, due to a major design flaw, this bag isn't a comfortable choice for air travel, which is what I need it for most. The laptop and tablet compartment is located in the main compartment of the bag. This means that when you need to remove those screen items, you have to open the main compartment of the bag and retrieve them from underneath or behind anything else you've packed in the bag. Note in the images that the straps for attaching clothing go through the laptop and tablet slots. The straps are of little use if you have to loosen them when the bag is open to get the laptop out. There is no access from outside the backpack. This is frustrating and takes up extra time, plus the time it takes later to repack anything that might have fallen out when you unplugged your laptop. Instead of being a savvy traveler, it becomes obvious that you - or the bag makers - didn't think it through. This is definitely not a checkpoint bag. It's also frustrating when you want to take your tablet or laptop to work on a plane. It's like opening a suitcase and rummaging through packed underwear and toiletries to get to a laptop. Another disappointment is the bottle holder. I LOVE that it packs away, especially since this bag doubles as a briefcase. However, there is only room for a tiny bottle. A 500ml bottle is about as much as you can carry in a bottle cage. But it's better than carrying the bottle in your hand or putting it in your pocket hoping it won't leak. Overall this is a great bag for commuting or short trips on the ground. I do not recommend it for air travel. The bag appears to be made for business trips, but it definitely isn't made for business trips by plane.
