You get what you pay for.

I was going to write a bad review for this product but I read some reviews first to see if others had the same issues as me. It's good that I did it too because a person who had the same problems as me also found an easy way to fix it. Still, it only deserves 3 stars. I bought this kit specifically for building a HTPC. I wanted the wireless option to be able to do both the initial setup and surfing the web on my TV and playing Minecraft. At first I was frustrated with the limited range of the wireless adapter and frustrated with the erratic behavior of the mouse and keyboard, especially when playing Minecraft. My couch is only 4-5 feet from the HTPC so that shouldn't have been a problem. After reading some other reviews, I found that the 2.4GHz dongle works anywhere from four to six channels. Turns out my wireless router is running on channel six. I changed the channel to 10 on my router and haven't had any issues with erratic mouse and keyboard behavior since. The keyboard and mouse themselves feel pretty cheap. They feel fragile, are made of cheap material and are certainly not ergonomic. On the downside, it's about as cheap as you can find a wireless keyboard and mouse combo. So don't expect too much. It works for what I bought it for so I can't ask for more. I think this kit is perfect as a temporary fix or for the initial setup of a Kodi or Raspberry Pi build. That was my original intention, but I've been playing Minecraft and surfing the internet on my TV more than I thought I would. If I had to make a repeat purchase, I'd spend an additional $5-$10 on a Logitech kit.

Pros
  • Requires an available USB port
Cons
  • Expensive
