As advertised this item will turn any old SCSI device into a new USB device. I used this (plus an optional adapter and MacDrive) to connect and use an old SyQuest Ez-Drive to my new Windows 7 laptop. However, there are a few things to consider: Connecting a SCSI device to a USB Port.2 . Make sure the disc is in the drive BEFORE plugging it into the USB port, otherwise the disc will not be recognized. You can then eject and load another disc, but first you must insert the disc into your drive.3. Do not use the Remove Hardware function until you are finished with the SCSI drive. If you try to plug it back in, the driver won't load - you'll have to reboot. Apart from these small problems, the thing is just awesome!
