Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Olympus XA2: A Compact Camera for Capturing Memories by Brian Rogel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent vintage camera worthy of its cult

I bought this camera a few weeks ago but before writing this review I wanted to get my first film. I'm happy to report that there were no surprises or disappointments. I was a bit worried about light leaks on this 30 year old camera, but they weren't obvious. The photos I received were very clear, at least as clear as my Rollei 35 of the same size. The revelations went straight to the money. I have two Olympus Stylus Epics which are good cameras but they do everything automatically including rewind and rewind. As a result, they can be a bit noisy. The XA2 is probably the quietest camera I have. With the XA2 I also have the ability to change the exposure by changing the ISO. My only complaint is that the tape rewinds easily and rewinding can be a bit fiddly. Hopefully it will get better after more experience with the camera. These cameras have something of a cult status. As a result, I paid a premium (but not exorbitant) price for my XA2. However, I feel it was worth it.

Pros
  • Detachable flash (A11)
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
