I've tried many brands of lip balm. This applicator is long lasting and the spherical tip is the most comfortable and predictable applicator I have ever used. The formula has no discernible taste or smell (my preference), although many others do. I avoid wax types that have alcohol in the ingredients list as they seem to make the cracking problem worse without frequent reapplication. Wax balm can also destroy a whole load of laundry if left in the bag to melt in the dryer or seeps into the glove box if left in a hot car. As long as the lid is on tight, they seem to survive the occasional wash and time in hot machines with no collateral damage. I wish they sold a version with some level of SPF protection.
