Strong earthy tea aroma, thick gel texture, suitable for everyone

SIORIS My First Essener 2-in-1 toner and essence comes in a plain 3.38 oz clear glass bottle. Yes, says Essener in the post and it says on all the packaging. It comes with a screw cap, small filling opening and is recyclable. It consists of 14 simple ingredients including 3 types of hyaluronic acid, rose water, green tea and mugwort extracts. There is no scent, but this syrupy gel essence has a pungent, earthy, tea/wormwood scent, which I expected and believe is natural to the product. I love it. It's not uncomfortable. Whether you are new to Korean skincare or multi-step skincare, essences will keep you nourished and hydrated. Essences tend to be lighter and are used to prepare the skin to improve absorption of subsequent ingredients. This Sioris My First Essener is a little different. The liquid is much thicker. When I try to squeeze it out through the small hole at the top of the glass bottle, it takes some force. Because it is enriched with gentle, skin-soothing and moisturizing ingredients (hyaluronic acid), it can be used in place of the toner step (as well as the essence step). How to include it: Can be used in the morning and evening. Wash (can be used after standard or double cleaning). Then you toner. You can either use your favorite toner and then dab a few drops of it onto your skin in a dabbing motion, or use this Sioris Essener as a toning step. Try squeezing about 5 generous drops or a dime-sized amount into your palm, place your palms together and pat your face and neck. You can add more essences, serums and vials by layering them. Apply individually and take breaks in between so that the products can absorb. While your face is still damp, be sure to apply a moisturizer. Yes, even if you have oily skin, you should use it, especially since many of the steps above probably contain hyaluronic acid (which this essencer contains). HA pulls moisture from the outermost layer deeper into the skin, and if it's dry or the surrounding air is dry, you won't get the benefits of HA either. Not moisturizing your face can be counterproductive and lead to dehydration, which leads to increased sebum production. So find a moisturizer you like and apply it. If you use facial oils, you should apply them after the moisturizer step. There's nothing wrong with facial oils, but they don't naturally add water or hydrate the skin. Instead, oils help lock in the moisture you've built up from the aforementioned layering of products and moisturizers, acting as an occlusive barrier to keep it all in. Apply oils after your moisturizer otherwise it will reduce the effectiveness of your moisturizer which really helps to add moisture. This is a wonderful herbal scented gentle "essence" "toner". This is a nod to the thicker side. When mine arrived it was almost jelly-like (see pictures) and had a jelly-like core that floated in a gel medium until it warmed to room temperature. I used it the next day and it was no longer firm but evenly thick. Tea and wormwood are great ingredients for the skin and can be used on all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. These are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich ingredients. Caveat: I would still test this regardless of its apparent suitability and natural ingredients. Just because something is natural doesn't make it suitable for everyone. I hope this review was helpful.
