I struggle with hormonal acne in adults, so I alternate using a variety of topical products that cause mild flaking and flaking (benzoyl peroxide, retinol, glycolic mask, clay masks, vitamin C serum). It makes applying a BB cream, liquid foundation, powdered mineral foundation or finishing powder a nightmare because even though I'm well hydrated. This scrub with 3% glycol helps a lot! I have developed a tolerance to exfoliating chemicals so I have no problem massaging this gently onto my wet face for 1-2 minutes, leave on for 5-15 minutes, then I wet my fingers and wet again and massage another 1-2 minutes and rinse. It helps loosen and remove most of the scaly or flaky skin, preps my skin's surface for applying moisturizer, and then I apply makeup. The skin becomes "smooth like a baby's bottom". It also helps treat my acne due to the 3% glycolic acid, so a win-win situation. The exfoliating granules are "big," feels like Epsom salts, but the person simply applies whatever pressure is comfortable with massaging or scrubbing. Sometimes I do it gently and sometimes I do it hard. Unless you use acids or chemical peels regularly like I do, you may only need to use this for 1-2 minutes 1-2 times a week, but I can use it daily or every other day as needed. Unless you have acne or scaly skin issues like I do, there's no reason to use it as often as I do. Normal healthy skin does not require the method I use and can cause irritation if used the way I use it. So be wise, try it as directed on the tube and adjust to suit your needs!
