Review on 🎧 beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 600 Ohm Over-Ear Stereo Headphones: Open Design, Wired High-End, Ideal for Headphone Amplifiers by Somchai Kittisak ᠌

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

I had ATH M50x on the UR12 interface, they have a massive, head-shaking bass, but everything else somehow clashed with an overloaded sound. And the tops were blurry, no matter how I adjusted the equalizer. With the DT990, the top of the JDS Element II amp has tops. They do not ring, do not crack, they are neither more nor less, they are as they should be. Up to the point that it does not cause a "Wow" effect, because they perfectly reproduce both everything good and everything bad. I took them because there was an amplifier that would pull out 600 ohms, and because I'm a fan of doing metal, and in metal the sound is de facto heavily overloaded, and this ate up the percussion while the guitars were beating. Now he doesn't eat.

Pros
  • Good positioning accuracy, does not "smear" the scene. Good AFC. Compared to the ATH M50x, they sit on the head very softly and do not press, to the point that they are pleasant to wear.
Cons
  • The frequency response may not be bad, better than that of the M50x, but you still have to level it under the ear with a post-equalizer. But there is less alignment. Maybe it's my business, but I had to raise the bass, because it goes out too much when approaching 20 Hz, as if the membrane was not designed for this. I'm worried about the junction of the emitters and the head arc. It is made of such plastic, as if a little something would fall apart. But the rest is metal, and I would like to hope that the joint is also held by the metal, and not by this plastic, that it is simply not visible.
