Power flickers or does not work

Three months later, when the electricity went out at home, the answering machine started working. Messages cannot be received. The buttons don't work, switching off and on again doesn't help. It shows there are messages there, but when I try to retrieve them it just tells me I need to reset the day and time. When I do that, the messages go away. Find a new answering machine.
