EZON didn't work reliably so I bought a Polar bracelet and smartwatch that works great.

Update June 4, 2021 I use the EZON every week four times a week for about 40 minutes each - twice on a rowing machine and twice on an exercise bike since I bought it, it has been working since mid December to mid January about 95% of the time, although as I described in my previous review it was unpredictable. From mid-January to mid-May it only worked about 50% of the time. Some days it worked perfectly and other days it didn't work at all. I wondered if my heart's electrical signal had changed, causing it to no longer function reliably. I decided to buy a Polar bracelet and a Polar smartwatch. Although the overall cost was much more than the EZON, the heart rate measurement is important to me. I was pleasantly surprised that the Polar chest strap and smartwatch worked great, as did my old Polar heart rate monitors in the past. He measured my resting heart rate, around 40, and as soon as I started exercising, there was a slow increase in heart rate until it peaked at around 150-160, as has happened in the past. My conclusion is that the EZON is very poor at detecting the electrical signal from the heart. That might work well for some people, but if you want a heart rate monitor that can reliably measure your heart rate, don't buy an EZON, but buy a Polar bracelet and smartwatch. I have been using Polar heart rate monitors with a chest strap and watch for over 30 years. They were easy to use and accurate. My old one is dead. Now Polar mainly sells chest straps with a heart rate sensor that require a smartwatch, which I don't want to buy. The only wrist watch chest monitor they sell has bad reviews so I bought the EZON. Some days it works perfectly and gives me readings similar to my now defunct Polar. On other days, he makes statements that are completely inaccurate. for example, the resting heart rate is between 100 and 130, while mine has always been in my mid-40s. When I did a 3 minute warm up on the rowing machine this morning, which usually results in a final heart rate of mid 120, I got readings around 160. I've always poured water on my chest and strap and adjusted the strap but still get it often inaccurate readings. I have a few additional comments after my previous review. The contact strips on the heart monitor strap are shorter and narrower than on my previous heart monitor. When I measure my resting heat from time to time before I start rowing or stationary training, I get abnormally high and erratic readings. I've found that if I move the monitor strap slightly once or twice to better center it on my chest, I get a reasonable reading. I also purchased a tube of Spectra 360 Electrode Gel after following the advice of another review that I use regularly. This could be another reason the heart monitor is now working well for me. Since the plastic portion of the monitor is narrow, I have some concerns that plugging and unplugging the monitor from my chest when I'm using it could break the narrow piece of plastic at the insertion holes at the end of the plastic piece. Recent Comments My heart monitor was working fine until a week ago. It worked fine for two days last week, but two days during my workout there were long periods where the display showed numbers from 180 to 220. Today was the worst day. My resting heart rate was 45, which is typical. In my three-minute warm-up, he peaked at 120 pounds, which again is typical. Then I spent some time at my computer. When I returned to my rowing machine to start my 40 minute workout, the display read 220. I adjusted the position of the heart monitor on my chest a bit so it could give me an accurate reading. Vain. I tweaked it 3 more times but still 220. I finally decided to start exercising because I figured increasing my heart rate might lead to more accurate readings. No luck as the readings were usually between 180 and 220. My max heart rate at the end of my workout is usually between 155 and 165 (I'm 78 years old). I will borrow the heart monitor for another week. If it doesn't give me an accurate reading, I'll have to buy another one.
