Update February 2nd. 2018 - The chest is 3 months old. I just noticed the lid warped and cracked while sitting on the kitchen counter away from direct heat and moisture. We have a humidifier on the stove in our house, so it's adjustable and convenient. I didn't do anything that caused the crash. I downgraded my rating to one star, which is a lot considering the box is pretty much useless. I am very disappointed and cannot recommend this product for its intended purpose. I have included photos to show the large cracks on the top of the box. This was my original 5 star review: This inexpensive bamboo tea storage box really saved me space. I freed up half a shelf in my closet by moving the tea bags from the boxes into this chest. I've had some slight picks when throwing away pretty boxes, but I like that I can easily access and view the selection after this change. Eight interior compartments hold an amazing number of pockets. Depending on the shape and packaging, I have 15 to 20 individual packs in my department. Turning some of them upside down allows you to accommodate more while keeping them upright. This comes in handy as I've bought boxes of varying amounts of bags but never more than 20. My box was well made, all parts fit snugly and as expected. The hinges work well and the lid closes smoothly. It looks neat and tidy on my counter next to the kettle!
