Review on House Tenafly Road by Theresa Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

LONG and absorbing fiction

I saw that this book is about 600 pages. It didn't scare me, but I wondered if I would write such a long book? I was. For 3 full days. I really liked the house on Tenefly Road. It's an interesting story with well-written characters that I really enjoyed. The history of the Civil War is well researched and accurate. There were many educational and fascinating aspects of the Civil War and the military in general that I found interesting. I loved how the character of Katherine went mainstream and it was excellent to follow her life as a military woman in what was then a remote outpost (Arizona). I sympathized with her in the terrible heat; pregnant, alone and struggling in a barely livable hut. The all-too-real themes of war crimes, Native American relationships, pain, marital distress and addiction have been seamlessly woven together in this compelling read. I will say one thing; Unlike almost every Kindle book I've read, this one had virtually no typos. There are books that are so badly rewritten that you can hardly read them. This is very frustrating and annoying. Not this book. Excellent and really fun to read.
