These shoes are your basic Asics GT-2000 with a tall profile, significantly larger than no 'footprint', and they have plasma protection throughout and around the toe box that keeps debris out - though no hard toe cap, and I personally do It doesn't. Although they run on trails, I don't think they're suited for trails. I've waterproofed them except for one where the mesh is open and they seem to do well in wintry conditions. They'd be perfect if they had a Gore-Tex lining (why not is anyone's guess), but it's typically Asics to go half-way. You could have killer weather shoes for a few bucks more. - which I gladly pay. It's a shame they ask their customers for these details! Visually they look great (color scheme) and the plasma guard around the toe box is very noticeable - in a good way.
