I was expecting a satin/polyester fabric for the hood piece, but it feels like a knit (also polyester). Knitwear is a typically thin, strong fabric used to line the cups of some bras and to make inexpensive women's nightgowns. (Remember Carol Wright). It's not as smooth as the nylon nightgowns you find in the best department stores, and nowhere is it as smooth as a satin pillowcase. There is also a serious quality control issue. The hard black hat was significantly thinner with a much tighter strap elasticity. Although I was able to fit it on my head (which is slightly smaller than average), it was so tight I knew it was going to give me a headache pretty quickly. I believe it was the child version but it was the 'adult size' that I received. The blue floral stripe is about an inch wider and stretches very slightly. I only wore it one night and struggled with it until about 3am, then I took it off and threw it on the floor. I didn't bother to open the other two packages. At $3 a hood, my expectations were low. but they are still not fulfilled.
