We bought these over a year ago and have used them a number of times while visiting frozen places in Colorado. They work well and appear to have strong spikes and a durable rubber mounting system. I would rate this product higher if there were spikes in the heel area. Since there isn't one, you'll need to tiptoe on the ice or make sure to place your foot on a flat surface rather than heel-to-toe. If you remember that there are no nubs or spikes on the heel, you can walk perfectly on ice and snow.
