The light itself is fine but what really annoys me about all these companies that claim to make excellent aquarium products is that they will make a lamp like this WITHOUT Attached to the side wall of the aquarium in consideration of the thickness of the damn AQUARIUM. The light "comes on", but WHAT exactly? Not from the side of my aquarium, that's for sure. There's nothing unusual in my fish tank - it's glass with a black border around the top - and yet this light that was supposed to "snap" SHOULD NOT because the clip itself doesn't fit on the top of the fish tank itself. It's just stupid. Isn't it better to make the clamp too wide and then make sure the clamp screw is long enough to tighten properly than make it too small? To me that makes sense. And yet it is apparently too complicated for the manufacturer to somehow understand. I've tried putting this light on any part of the aquarium that looked like it might work, hoping "I" was an idiot missing something, but it doesn't work, it just doesn't work. So now I need to build something to attach a light to and then attach THAT to my fish tank so I can attach the light to the fish tank. Again, this is just a silly design that defeats the purpose of being "user friendly". If you have an unfinished tank above it will likely work for you, but if not then either don't bother or be prepared to install something to make it work. The sad thing is they ALL are like that - none of these lights actually attach to a normal aquarium. I do not understand.
