Good monitor - wondering if you're feeling lucky?

This is a really nice monitor and a good price as long as it works. Unfortunately, when you run into problems, you'll find how unhelpful Asus customer support is. And you'll find out their guarantee is bullshit. We bought a dozen of these monitors. for my company. After about 6 months, every 12th person had a problem with a flickering image on the screen. We first tried contacting tech support through their website using their online form. I received an email saying we will contact them within 48 hours. 10 days later, with no response from them, we resubmitted the request via the online submission form on their website and received another email saying we would receive a response from them within 48 hours. About 27 hours later they responded to apologize that we were having problems with our monitor and explained that they were having problems with their email system and asked me to answer all the questions again (name/address/location of purchase /Date of Purchase/Serial Number /Model Number/Description of Problem). The absurd thing about this request is that all this information is visible when I check the status of my service request on Asus.com. So they have this information, and they're asking me to tell them a third time. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. I called and the overseas tech support staff are equally useless in handling the query. And they tell me, despite their advertised "Advance Replacement" guarantee, that I must send in the faulty monitor for repair and an expected waiting time of 7 business days (9-11 actual days for repair plus a few more days for shipping ). any direction). This is in no way an advance exchange, so I will report this to the proper authorities. Asus used to be a great company, but ever since they started selling products directly related to their own name, they forgot to build up the customer service and warranty part of their business. If you're unlucky and hoping to get one of the good ones, you're much better off buying a Samsung. Sometimes a deal isn't a deal. And with Asus it definitely is.

Pros
  • Bought three, all perfect.
Cons
  • Lower refresh rate
