This radio puts out a pretty good and powerful even clear sound with some bass and smooth highs even at max volume. This is made possible by the advertised 3W neodymium speakers. It's sensitive enough to lock onto stations, fairly resistant to drift, and easy to use if you read the one-page manual carefully. This is a radio for everyday use, but not for prolonged listening (unless it's near a USB port for a permanent power source) or for emergencies when normal household electricity is unavailable or unavailable. And this radio is definitely not for emergencies, but also as normal equipment for your BoB or emergency bag. The reason for this is obvious as it uses a USB cable to charge the low power 3.7V 800mAh Li-Ion battery (type BL-5C) that came with the radio. It takes about 5 hours to fully charge this type of battery and about the same time before it runs out of energy and loses all power after continuous use. If you don't have an easily accessible power supply or power source to plug in a USB charging cable (or your car has one), the radio can be as dead as a doorknob. The power source and charging method are the reason why this radio is not ideal for emergencies. It would be better if the manufacturer equipped it with regular AA or AAA batteries. And I just found out that the price of another battery is almost the same as the price of the radio itself.
