What a difference! IMPRESSIVE! Instead of standard yellow, dim and not very powerful halogen lights that allowed me to see maybe 6 feet behind my car, I can now see the whole long driveway and even the fence about 50 feet away! one can say. Turn night into day. It is truly plug and play on this car, no flickering or CAN-BUS error messages, no adapters/resistors or anything required (13 year old Accord). Just like changing a lightbulb. So easy to install! Just open the trunk, pull out the plastic latches on each corner of the lid. Unscrew the lamp housing and then remove the old halogen lamp by pulling it straight out of the housing. You reuse all electrical connections - just plug the LED plug directly into the socket where the light bulb was. Yes, it really is that simple. 5 minutes if that, the hardest part is those little plastic clips. Tip: Use a regular flat head screwdriver to get under the bar and pry it out. IMPORTANT: If you look at the back you will see a set of fins on the heatsink which are straight lines (slightly different from the others). The ridges line up perfectly with the LED element and serve as a guide so you can line it up correctly - you want these ridge lines to go straight up and down to get the widest beam pattern = the LED will be at a 90 degree -Placed at an angle to the ground.
