Got this for my Lenovo T580 after my dad bought it for his T590. There is a super grippy rubber pad on the base which, along with the weight, keeps the device securely in place. Soft material inside to avoid scratching or damaging the laptop. My laptop is used at work with a Thunderbolt dock that has a power button (hooray, Lenovo thinks of everything) and allows me to place the laptop behind the monitors without wasting desk space. I think I'll buy a pair for the house to manage charging the laptop there, it should be very handy for that purpose.
