The overall design of the chef's knife is very good. The knife itself is very comfortable to hold and has excellent ergonomics compared to all my other chef's knives I've owned. The very high quality steel works smoothly with large vegetables such as carrots, ginger, etc. Cutting and slicing vegetables is very smooth and you will have no problems with this knife. In all the time I've used the knife I haven't encountered any sharpness issues or anything like that. The knife comes in a very high quality packaging if you are interested in giving a family member a knife for Christmas. It also comes with a 1 year warranty on the knife so it's always good if the steel starts to crack or the wood starts to crack, but I'd say you won't have any problems with this particular model due to the construction is quite rigid.. and durable. I haven't encountered any problems. For the price, this knife is easily comparable to the $350 Japanese chef's knives on the market, this knife isn't far behind. I highly recommend this knife to all cooking lovers.
