I bought a black one in December of 2019 for $17 and I'm still wearing it 3 years later (12/2022). I've washed it dozens of times, dried it on high heat, and have had no issues with stitching, shrinking, or falling apart. It still has that odor to it that you might smell on black plastics or new cars but the smell isn't overwhelming. I like the length of it but I'd prefer it not to be so stretchy. Maybe they use a different material now. The zipper seems a little cheap but it could just be the stretchy material around the zipper that keeps it from lying flat. Also, the hood is larger than most coats/jackets I've seen and I really appreciate that. It's warm and baggy and the sleeves are not too tight. I often wear sweaters under it when walking my dog. I probably wouldn't pay $40 for one if they're still made like mine is but for what I paid, I do like it.
