I bought this shoe for my son for his birthday and it is exactly as described and works great straight away and he was delighted. The battery was even fully charged, so he could put them on right away. It comes with two dual USB charging cables that work great so he can have one charging cable at his mum's house and one at mine. The lights seem to last at least 6 to 10 hours depending on usage. One of the control and charging cables was slightly shorter than the other, but that didn't affect their functionality. They have patterns and solid color settings that work at the touch of a button. I bought them a little bigger so he doesn't outgrow them in a few weeks and they fit well and he finds them comfortable. Yes, they can be distracting if allowed. I told my son not to wear them to class and I had no problem with that. All LEDs are on and they are BRIGHT. Impressively bright considering I've worked with electronics for decades and never thought they would be as reliable and efficient as they've become. Every time he puts them on, he wipes his white skin with a baby wipe to keep them dazzlingly white. In general, given the price, there is nothing to complain about. I'm sure if it were his only pair of shoes the wear and tear would take a toll on them but as it can change back and forth they have held up extremely well so far. Oh, and did I mention he loves the look, it's sort of a throwback to old-school high-tops.
