This is much quieter than my SIL. I wanted quiet and it's amazing. It's heavier than I'd like, but if someone else does the massage, that's fine. My kids love playing with it and feeling the different strengths of the vibration. It's light enough for my 5 and 7 year olds to lift. My favorite setting is 20 to 30 and I use a ball attachment. A full charge lasts for 3 massages and it stops every 10 minutes so it needs to be turned on again. I use it for about an hour in each session. I have muscle pain on a daily basis and this is a great help. Elegiac when you have someone holding it for you.
