This X100V lens hood does what it says: it shields the lens to prevent flare. It also doesn't block the built-in flash, which is fantastic. There are two minor issues: 1. Although the original X100V cap fits on the lens hood, it doesn't hold nearly as well as a camera without a lens hood. The reason seems to be related to the chamfer around the hood on the outside. The bevel allows the cap to be moved very easily by also exerting a slight pressure on the outer edge of the cap when putting it on. I am currently looking for an alternative cap, although I am considering not using a cap at all. 2: Another small issue is that there are some rough edges on the hood trim which noticeably reduces the shine. runs along a line from the hood opening to the point where the hood meets the adapter ring. Aside from the two issues above, the hood is fantastic.
