Easy to use and reliable

There are many conflicting reviews but I thought this camera and screen met my needs. Very easy to set up, just plug it into an outlet and wait a second for the portable monitor to find the camera. I used the monitor in my hand while finding the perfect camera position to keep an eye on the baby. I have finished a two story house with a basement and was looking for a way to keep an eye on the baby sleeping upstairs while I'm downstairs in the kitchen or watching a movie in the basement. I have no problem connecting a portable monitor to a camera anywhere in my house. The monitor has an antenna that can be folded up on the back. I find I need these to get rid of interference or background noise. The camera's microphone is sensitive enough that you can hear the baby's breathing on the monitor, and sometimes sounds from other rooms are picked up and played back. I turn off the sound at night because it's hard to fall asleep when I hear baby noises. The camera has night vision so you can see your baby perfectly, but be aware night vision is black and white by definition. The only way to get a color image at night is to illuminate the baby with light. The monitor has a limited battery which I usually just leave plugged in or know I've only been unplugged for a couple of hours. Camera, but you can only see one camera at a time on the monitor. You have to click on the menu to choose the camera you want to see. So if you're watching two kids, you'll have to switch back and forth.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Minor issues
