Does not work over HDMI DA

I've been producing live events for over 35 years and it's rare that a product just doesn't work. If you run it directly from source it works fine. Run it through any type of distribution amplifier or (HDMI DA) and zero signal. We tested all the devices we bought and they showed the same thing. Our conclusion: Should the monitor have some kind of HDCP compliance?
