Open circuit voltage measurement - be careful.

Good price, great functionality and form factor. I used 10-speed and 6-speed for the front and back of my van. If everything is connected and power is being drawn, the LED will illuminate if the fuse blows or pulls and the circuit is broken. In this situation, I measure 3 V across the panel (with 13.6 V input). The root cause of my problem with this fuse box - and I noticed another reviewer sees this as well - is the reading of 11.8V on the panel (same 13.6V). V) with an open circuit (blown or missing fuse). The gooseneck (LED) reading light I installed for my wife was not working properly and I had trouble pulling the cord through, assuming the timid voltage was a bad crimp or connector. (Actually, this issue is what prompted me to purchase this second one for the van's rear wiring. Not that it broke the bank). It just so happens that the LED reading light draws enough current (in the event of a blown fuse) from my Battle Born batteries (at 13.6V state of charge). I've also connected a 12vdc power supply which replaces the batteries when the van is on AC and I haven't measured the actual voltage drop but the reading light doesn't blink in this configuration (I suspect it might just not be using enough leakage current). Bottom line: Made for some painful troubleshooting to assume there is no (or negligible) leakage current when a fuse is blown. Make sure you have GOOD fuses installed when checking all your circuits as a blown fuse may not light the red LED on this panel as advertised.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
