I don't understand why they stick on BOTH sides. If only one side was sticky enough to stick to furniture and the outside was smooth plastic, that would discourage cats from using it as a scratching post. After a few weeks, those sticky outer parts fill up with hair and other nasty things, and your chair or sofa becomes gross. Who wants to keep changing them? Not to mention the cost. I started with just one side but then I had to leave the back side which can be opaque white or blue. The whole point is that you want it to be crunchy so that it's invisible while still holding the cat's claws. I just do not understand.
