I have bought one of these in the past and so far it has worked great. I just got my son an Xbox for Christmas and decided to buy another one of these charging systems. After charging the batteries for an hour, the indicator was still red, so we waited another hour or so and the indicator was still red. I went to take the batteries out and see if they would work in the controller and both batteries were so hot when I touched them and the charger. I unplugged and removed the batteries and saw that the bottoms of both batteries were warped and slightly melted. The batteries were so hot that I had to pull them out with a gloved hand, afraid they might explode. I don't know why it happened because I never had such problems with the device I bought earlier. I even connected our other charger that I bought first to the new Xbox just to see if it was an Xbox, but the batteries charged as intended. So I'm not sure if the new charging station or the batteries that came with it were defective. Right now I'm indifferent to this product because my first one worked great and still works, but this new one didn't work at all and could also be potentially dangerous. I will return this unit and update my review when I receive a replacement unit. I even have our other charger, which I first bought plugged into the new Xbox just to see if it was an Xbox, but the batteries charged as intended. So I'm not sure if the new charging station or the batteries that came with it were defective.
