These do nothing.
If I could give these a 0 I would because they don't do anything. They won't fit in the coils, and if they do, they won't tighten. What good are they if they don't fit the threads exactly. I bought them to keep the line from unwinding off the spool. I can't figure out what this particular product is for. Don't bother buying them. I have some that fit the spool snugly and hold the thread well. I needed more and couldn't find her again.
