Review on πŸ”¦ UCO StakeLight: Reliable Tent Stake with LED Light and Emergency Strobe by Gerald Reeves

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very practical in the warehouse, detachable lights expand the possible uses.

approx. Just did a weekend hike with them. Be careful not to hit them too hard because if you hit a rock they will bend. In my opinion they should have eliminated the holes at the bottom of the post. There two of me spun and hit a hard spike as hard as I usually do with my boar stakes. I sort of straightened them with a multi tool, but you can see the aluminum has come loose. I will only place bets on reserve or temporary duty. So the stakes for me were ah. Anyway, the lights were what I really wanted. They're not perfect, but they work very well. Behind the battery compartment is a plastic insert that covers the rubber casing. Not sure if it's useful, but it falls out easily. I could glue it. I don't know what it's actually supposed to do other than falling out when changing the battery. I think it's to protect against water, but why a hole at all? My buddies say that in strobe mode it looks like an airport runway. (I bought 2 sets) It's also very easy to find the warehouse. At the end. I ended up not using the pegs but instead running the paracord threaded through the body of the lamp along with the lock and carabiner. Now I can attach them anywhere, like the back of a hammock or marmot stakes. So. To be fair, I'm only taking one off for a bet. They're serviceable if you're careful, but the lights work without tripping over trip wires, finding bearings, etc. I can't comment on battery life as the batteries I used were suspect and it was very cold outside. I will update my review after several rides with headlights on.
