Review on Travelon Black Size Add-On Strap by Jason Glass

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor short design suitable for luggage and travel gear

Please note that the One Size Travelon differs from some of the other versions available at Revain. This adjustable is 7 inches or less. If you are trying to use this on a large bag to attach another bag it won't do. Most large bags have a handle-to-edge distance of 7-8 inches, so this strap stays on top of the bag most of the time. The handle of the bag you want to attach is simply missing. Where the hell did anyone come up with this bad design? Maybe good for securing your portfolio? Nowhere in the description did I see the length mentioned but as a naïve buyer I assumed this strap was similar to others sold at Revain and could be adjusted up to 17 inches which is 10 inches longer than this strap. Do yourself a favor and look for one with the variable length listed in the description, measure your bag and test the bag you plan to attach it to. Make sure the strap fits. I had to return my (2) belts for a refund. I've used Samsonite bags before, I think they came up with this idea and it worked. But they use this fork clip to attach an extra bag, so they just worked with their bag and the strap was permanently installed on the main bag. I have switched to Delsey hard cases and the Samsonite straps do not work although they can be removed. My experience with these straps is that the attached pocket folds out very easily, especially now that I'm using hard side pockets instead of fabric pockets. I use one of those old fashioned luggage straps that goes around the middle of both bags to minimize this slippage. Ooooh, remember when using these straps both bags should be level with the ground so the bags don't fall off when you stop and stand your bag upright because the attached bag is higher than the main bag. Good Trip! :)
