This canvas is mostly securely fastened, but the actual quality of the canvas is quite flimsy and cheap. Simple tears. I would advise only using light even coats of paint, don't press too hard, don't use spatulas. I used a set of 3 for a simple acrylic project and everything looks great. To be honest I prefer Michael's more professional looking gallery wrapped canvases. The absolute best thing would be to do it yourself, but not many people do that. (buy fabric, staple to your wood frame, gesso/primer yourself). Overall it worked fine for what I needed to do in a pinch, but that wouldn't be my first recommendation.
