Okay so I'm working on my 5th 'Locks of Love' donation. I have been doing this for 20 years. grow it out, lop it off, donate between 15 to 18 inches? My hair grows fast anyway and is super thick, but I like to do things internally and externally to help it grow faster, thicker, longer! I found this product when I was searching for things to assist a friend of mine who is working on her first Locks of Love donation; she has VERY baby-fine hair, and it grows very slowly. so she asked for my help. I told her I'd try this extract first, and let her know what I think of it. The FEEL of it is NOT oily at all, it smells very citrusy, and is not overwhelming. I use a LOT, myself, and I also leave it on closer to 30 minutes than the recommended 10 minutes. The bottle has a built-in applicator, a pointy little tube that you can just squirt directly onto your scalp, then rub in. Use it all over, and if you do have thinning hair, I'd say concentrate it on those spots and rub in gently with your fingerpads, NOT your fingerNAILS (nails break your hair shaft!). It tingles, it actually feels quite nice, not a burning or a cold feeling? Just a tingle. I'd say going one step further and putting a plastic cap on with a hot towel overtop of that, would help this product along even better. Using it twice a week as recommended sounds about right. Also when you go to shampoo it out - I'd recommend using a sulfate free shampoo (sulfates strip your hair of its natural oils, sulfates are EVIL things!), and a sulfate free conditioner with Argan Oil in it. Argan Oil is a gift from Heaven, and combining it with this awesome pre-treatment (and NO SULFATES in anything!) will guarantee thicker locks. I HAVE noticed, after only using this 3 times, that my hair seems to have more volume at the roots; which is a good thing, because the longer it gets, the heavier it gets (super thick, very curly), and it weighs it down around my face and seems to 'droop'. No drooping thus far, and I've only got 3 more years to go before my next donation. Re: the price of this product - yeah it's a tad pricey, but you get a darn good amount! And even with applying as much as possible twice a week, methinks this will last at least 4 to 6 months? I say SPEND THE MONEY on your hair if you want it to look as glorious as possible. Never mess around when it comes to your hair and face care; buy the good stuff, you'll be rewarded with healthy, shining thick locks, and beautiful skin (I tell everyone this. very important!). Peace!
