This is my first pair of Darn Tough Boot Socks. I already have two pairs of Crew Socks. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Crew socks work great with my light hiking boots and sneakers. The boot toe is perfect for my 10 inch steel toe work boots. Insulated in all the right places. What makes these socks real winners is the combination of materials from which they are made. I can wear socks with leather work boots. and my feet stay dry all day in 90 degrees and warm in 10 degrees. Neat color combinations also "Made in Vermont" on the label have always been a quality feature for me as a native of Vermont, but have been a bit overwhelmed lately and some products only. hmm? Darn Tough socks are the kind of quality product Vermonters can be proud of and I hope you guys and gals keep making them here for a long time. They're something of the Vermont equivalent of LL Beans Maine Hiking Boot. Having a few inches of the sock over the top of the leg will help you tighten it properly. A crew sock and an 8-inch boot (work boots, hiking boots) will force you to make more adjustments throughout the day, while a boot-height sock keeps you from sinking into the boot and everything seems to stay in place . on site. Great socks, I hardly ever wear my Thorlos.
