Review on 🚴 EVT Safe Zone Helmet Mirror for Bicycles by Gregory Chaitanya

Revainrating 5 out of 5

OMG - this mirror exceeded all my expectations!

This is the first review I had to write IMMEDIATELY after using the product for the first time. This mirror is just AMAZING. The bike gurus at REI recommended one of those tiny goggle mirrors to me, and I did WRONG with it. The Safe Area bike helmet mirror was the perfect size - I could immediately see the road half a mile behind me. No kidding, it was as good, if not better, than my car's side mirror. Aside from the crystal clear optics (and I've shot movies before, so I know my optics), position and angle adjustments were EASY and stable. I have glasses for my nearsightedness, and with this REI endorsed postage-stamp size mirror, I've never been able to look in the mirror just by looking at it - the frame of my glasses was always in the way. I've seen ABSOLUTELY ZERO VIBRATIONS on a regular city street. . The image was clear, stable and undistorted. And as others have pointed out, do NOT focus on the mirror, you focus on the image in the mirror which is just as far away as if you were looking over your shoulder. Setup was also a lot easier than I expected: I used the included Velcro straps on my Bell Traverse MIPS helmet. One issue that bothered me a bit was that since this is a MIPS helmet, I hope the flimsy velcro straps don't interfere with the MIPS safety design. I doubt this will happen, but I could see someone who doesn't know how to avoid accidentally linking MIPS parts. While the velcro seems to work well (I used all three straps that came with it), I might even try using a zip tie. I would suggest the company provide at least two WIDE FLAT zippers as they are less likely to dig into the styrofoam. The only question I have left is why the heck doesn't REI stock this item? ! Even if Revain were cheaper, at least the REI gurus would have an idea of how awesome this mirror is!
