Two open side pockets, one back pocket with zip and a lined inner pocket for a mobile phone. All these different pockets, including the phone pocket, were the highlight for me. The material is very light. The inner lining is not a compression material. It's more like lightweight spandex but holds up a heavy phone quite well so far. Seriously, this hip phone pocket is a huge improvement over my other shorts. I no longer need an armband and my phone no longer bounces around in a huge bag when I run. My only complaint is some loose stitching, but so far it's holding up.
