Review on 🎡 Raspberry Pi Octo 8-Channel Sound Card by Javein Harvey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You'll have to fiddle around a bit though.

Check out my amazing solution! (I'm proud of it. :) ) I've been able to confirm that simultaneous recording and playback on multiple channels works well. I had a Pi 4B with two channels out and four channels in, all 16-bit/192kHz. The datasheet for the chip claims it also supports 24-bit I/O and I see no reason to doubt that. Also, I haven't tried doing all the 8-out and 6-in at the same time yet, but I assume it works. The sound quality is fine both outside and inside. There was some headache. The Github page recommends "sudo apt remove pulseaudio" *absolutely* unless you want your audio I/O application to crash frequently. Also, sometimes the input channels choose to switch everything! I haven't found a workaround yet, but I assume it's solvable.
