I love this humidifier! You must soak the filter in water before use, otherwise it will not work. Instead of emitting cold steam, it mixes water with air and evaporates, which is why it is called an evaporative humidifier. Has ultraviolet light to kill bacteria which is cool. Holds a liter of water and works all day. It doesn't work well on large areas, maybe up to 300-400 sqm. It seemed loud at first, but I don't notice it anymore and even forget it's on. Best used on hard surfaces and not plush carpets. This is the best humidifier I have ever had and it is very economical.
