I bought these to replace the stock taillight on my FZ6R. The initial installation was a lot more difficult than necessary because the poles of both bulbs in the wiring harness did not touch. After fiddling with the connectors the bulb worked but I questioned the durability as vibration could move the connectors again. The brightness of conventional navigation lights seemed reasonable and slightly brighter than incandescent bulbs. Brake brightness was a whole different story. The difference between the brightness levels was barely noticeable, especially in daylight. OEM bulb brightness levels are much more variable. Something obviously important for a motorcyclist; Driver awareness of your actions and intentions. To me, this is the real reason for replacing LEDs, which should be brighter and more responsive than their incandescent counterparts. I understand that this 360-degree configuration limits the amount of directional light, but as advertised it should better emulate an incandescent bulb. I would not recommend this lamp for any application other than cosmetic. The design and quality were not up to motorcycle brake light standards. Unfortunately, LED replacements for this size bulb seem to be quite limited. It seems the stock OEM bulb is the best option.
