Excellent performance of the ultra wide angle lens

For those who love or need an ultra wide angle lens e.g. For example, for landscapes and architecture, or even for real estate professionals, a question may pop up: is it really is this lens worth the money? And there's a quick one-word answer: Yes! 12-24mm is DX format, not full format. I shoot in DX so this review is written from that perspective. The lens is a very compact yet durable piece of glass. Yes, it's mostly plastic with a metal bracket, but it feels very comfortable in the hands. And it is done! As many before me have said, cameras and lenses don't make a photographer, but just as important, having the right gear helps a photographer do their job better. the range it offers. And more importantly, it's sharp and delivers excellent color contrast even in many low-light conditions. Architectural shots in moonlight are particularly suitable. I had no trouble focusing, except on the rare occasions when objects in the viewfinder had little to no contrast and the lighting was very dim (which is the case with almost all lenses). For wide-angle landscape shots, the 12-24mm lens delivers truly exceptional detail and clarity while maintaining great depth. And at the end of the day, it's all about captivating shots (along with those who see your work). For real estate ads, this lens is an absolute winner. Being able to fill the entire space gives your potential buyers a much better idea of what you have to offer. In other words, that's light years longer than a point-and-shoot or iPhone/smartphone camera shot. At 12mm there is some distortion or soft edges, but not always, so some of that, particularly the distortion, may be mine. Fault. I can live with that as I can improve my skills. Since this lens uses 77mm filters I was lucky as my 18-300mm lens is also that size so I didn't have to spend more money on these little critters. The fact that it's a fixed aperture of f/4 if someone wants f/2.8 or f/3.5 might be a deal breaker for some. Not for me. I have no complaints about this feature. Yes, I thought about the idea of a 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 lens, but in the end I went with this little guy and I have no regrets. A dark shadow will appear on your image. Make sure you have a speedlight (or equivalent) connected if you need extra light. This lens is ideal for landscape, architecture and cramped interior shots. I've used it on both the D90 and D5100 with excellent results. Highly recommended.
