The strap is very similar to the original strap. It's a bit shorter, has a slightly different texture, and the clasp is a slightly different shape. I had no trouble attaching the strap to the watch and everything looks very secure. Overall, most people probably won't notice a difference. However, if your skin is sensitive to metals like mine, the clasp will most likely cause a rash with a lot of sweat. The clasp on the original Garmin strap didn't do that to my skin. That's why I rated the comfort with 3. I painted the clasp with clear nail polish and that helped noticeably reduce the reaction but didn't eliminate it on heavy sweating days. I expect to have to repaint the clasp from time to time, which is a hassle but not a big deal given the money saved. It's too early to talk about durability.
