Good quality, can't be charged with it

I don't know why but I expected plastic. I like that it's aluminum/metal. Feels high quality. However, I don't understand the functionality of the slot below. It's not big enough to hold the charger for the One Blade or any other electric shaver. Maybe its function is to let water through when you insert a toothbrush? Not too sure. Generally good quality.
