This is a near perfect product for those who keep Neocaridina species. Start with good RO or RO/DI water, follow the directions and you'll be fine. For me, 2 1/4 scoops per 5 gallons of RO/DI in one of those blue drinking water containers gives me the ideal parameters for my red cherry shrimp - pH 7.2, KH 3, GH 6 using the API Master Test Kit. TDS runs around 180 with a very cheap HM TDS-3 unit which I calibrate about every month. I noticed that several reviewers have not had the same level of success with this product. I put the aerator in a 5 gallon jug to stir and aerate for at least 3-4 days before using it for a water change. I don't know if this makes a huge difference in terms of stabilizing water parameters, but I always get stable readings within the parameters I'm looking for this way, and it never hurts to age your water. What I do know for sure is that almost every top shrimp farmer on YouTube uses and swears by this product. I've followed her advice so far and have been successful. Good luck and happy shrimp!
