The transducer was purchased to replace one that I broke when I walked past while cleaning my boat and accidentally broke the bracket. Tried to restore it but has never read properly since. When I got a new replacement transducer and took the time to remove the old one and install the new one, I took the boat out to the lake and it didn't read anything at all. I adjusted the position level of the encoder and tried again but only saw a screen full of red dots. I thought maybe I had a kink in the line so I revised the route and found everything to be fine. I've attempted 2 other separate trips to the lake to verify this and still only read the red screen. I tried to contact Lowrance but was over 45 minutes late and couldn't wait any longer. So I figured I'd try to get a replacement only to find out my return period had expired. I bought at the end of March and the return period expired at the end of April. Basically 30 days right of return. I think I should wait until I retire and do nothing but play with the electronics to see why they didn't work when I bought them and have the luxury of getting them back within a 30 day policy to get back since I'm retiring and don't have anything else. Live to take my mind off it. This is an example of great customer service these days. I guess I'll have to see if other lines of suppliers have better customer service before I buy their products. So far, Lowrance has not resolved two separate issues with the Lowrance Triple Shot Depth Finder that I purchased with the transom kit. The first problem was that when we received the package from day one, the angle bracket on the sonar was missing. Finally after 3 days of waiting I spoke to a representative who apologized and confirmed that they would fix the problem and send me the missing part. That was 1 1/2 years ago. I guess our bad service is really getting worse these days. Not impressed with Lowrance's support for products.
