Review on πŸ’ Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Powder Foundation Makeup, 220 Natural Beige (0.21 Oz) - New York by Debbie Jones

Matte but short-lived

I love SuperStay Full Coverage Foundation and SuperStay Better Skin Skin Transforming Powder, but Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation just doesn't work. I have combination skin, so bad powders either give me a dry, sticky face (but the makeup lasts all day) or they are poorly set (tolerable during the day) and get greasy after a few hours. With this powder I get both. Once applied, it really sets makeup and leaves a dry finish; Looks good for 2-3 hours then my makeup starts to separate and run, looks dry and sticky. Please note that this may be my own user error as I mainly use as a setting powder and not a real powder; Some people who are more experienced with powder foundation than me may have a better experience. The finish is definitely not lightweight, quite heavy on the skin for a powder, especially when used as a foundation. I really feel like I'm wearing makeup. But it doesn't irritate my skin, break out or clog my pores (I do a double cleanse and use a makeup remover balm to start). The coverage is good but rather average, not full, slightly built up. Incidentally, 112 Natural Ivory suits my light-medium yellow, warm complexion, oxidizes a little when I'm darker (Maybelline products always oxidize for me), but not too yellow or unnatural. For reference I have a MAC NC20, Estee Lauder 1W2, Becca Buff/Buttercup, NYX True Beige, Wet'n'Wild Soft Beige and for the Maybelline SuperStay Full Coverage Foundation I use the same shade 112 Natural Ivory. I recommend that people using this to set powder go for the lighter option if in between shades. The compact packaging is made of plastic, quite durable for a pharmacy product. But this is such a package that gains too much on the road, it can tear or the loop will break over time. I really liked that the compact comes with a sponge (in a separate compartment) and a mirror, which is very handy for traveling. The sponge is of mediocre quality but can be used on the go. Although the product arrived in good condition, after a few uses the powder started to crack and move around in the bowl (and I don't use a heavy hand when picking up the product). Eventually everything collapses and needs suppression.
